The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (with contractor Serco) collects the blue bin (mixed dry recycling — paper, card, plastics, metals, cartons and glass) every week, and the black bin (general, non-recyclable household waste) every two weeks. Food waste is collected weekly in a black caddy. Garden waste goes in a green bin on a paid subscription (around £89 a year), collected fortnightly. Weekly recycling is unusual and makes the fortnightly rubbish bin easier to manage. Collections run Monday to Friday. Present bins by 7am, or the night before, on collection day.
