West Northamptonshire Council collects the black bin (general, non-recyclable waste) and the blue-lidded recycling bin (paper, card, glass bottles and jars, cans, tins, foil and plastics numbered 1, 2 and 5) on alternating fortnightly weeks. Some properties use sacks and boxes instead. Food waste is collected weekly. Garden waste goes on a paid subscription, collected fortnightly. Black bins are moving to a three-weekly cycle from spring 2027 in the Northampton and South Northants areas, harmonising with Daventry, which has had three-weekly collections since 2018. This information was correct at the time of writing; the council has proposals to change its collection schedule currently under review, so your service may be updated in future. This is a separate council from North Northamptonshire. Present bins by 6am on collection day.
