West Lindsey runs three bins in rotation — black, blue and purple-lidded — plus a new orange-lidded food caddy and a paid green garden bin. It's a lot to track. West Lindsey collects the black general-refuse bin every fortnight, with the blue mixed-recycling bin and the purple-lidded paper and card bin collected on the alternating weeks. The blue bin takes plastic bottles, cartons, metal cans and glass; the purple-lidded bin is paper and card only. A new weekly food waste service (orange-lidded caddy) is being introduced in 2026 under Simpler Recycling. Garden waste is a paid subscription (around £48 a year, green bin, fortnightly March to November). Lincolnshire County Council handles disposal.
