Waltham Forest collects recycling and food waste weekly, with general rubbish every fortnight. The green bin is recycling, the black bin is rubbish, and the brown bin covers garden waste on the alternate week to the black bin.
The London Borough of Waltham Forest collects the green bin (mixed dry recycling — paper, card, glass bottles and jars, tins, cans and plastics, loose) weekly, and the brown outdoor food caddy weekly. The black bin (general non-recyclable waste, or refuse sacks) is collected every fortnight, on the alternate week to the brown garden waste bin — so on any given week you present either your black bin or your brown garden bin, not both. Garden waste is collected fortnightly. Note that black bin collections moved to fortnightly to encourage more recycling. Present bins and caddies by the collection time on your day.
