Thurrock Council collects the green or grey wheeled bin (non-recyclable household waste) and the blue bin (mixed dry recycling — paper, card, glass, cans and plastics; put glass and sharp cans loose in the bin, not in bags) on alternating fortnightly weeks. Garden waste goes in a brown bin on a paid subscription (around £80 for the first bin in 2026/27), collected in the same weeks as your blue bin. Weekly food waste collections are being introduced borough-wide at no charge. Each street is designated 'Round A' or 'Round B', which determines your collection weeks. Present bins by 6am on collection day.
