Telford & Wrekin Council (with Veolia) collects the red-top bin (general, non-recyclable rubbish — nappies, polystyrene, plastic film, crisp packets) and the purple-top bin (mixed recycling — cans, tins, clean foil, glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles, pots and tubs) on alternating fortnightly weeks. Paper and card go separately in a blue bag. Garden waste goes in a green bin, collected fortnightly. Food waste is collected weekly in a silver caddy. Note the local quirks: red is your general rubbish here, not recycling, and purple is the mixed recycling bin. Present containers by 7am on collection day.
