Never miss a Sandwell bin day again

Sandwell splits its recycling across two containers — a blue-lidded bin for bottles, cans and glass, and a separate blue bag just for paper and card — alongside a grey rubbish bin and a weekly food caddy. Keeping paper out of the bottles bin is the thing to get right here.

How Sandwell bin collections work

Sandwell Council collects the grey bin (non-recyclable general waste) fortnightly, and the blue-lidded recycling bin (glass bottles and jars, food tins and drink cans, plastic bottles, tubs and trays, empty aerosols and foil) fortnightly on the alternate week. Paper and card go separately in a blue recycling bag under Sandwell's dual-stream system. Food waste is collected weekly in a caddy. Garden waste goes in a green-lidded bin on a paid subscription. Present bins by 5:30am on collection day.

Common questions

When are bins collected in Sandwell?

Sandwell collects the grey (general waste) bin and the blue-lidded recycling bin (bottles, cans and glass) on alternating fortnights, with paper and card kept separate in a blue bag, a weekly food caddy, and a paid green garden bin. My Bin Day reads your council schedule and texts you the evening before each collection so you always know what's going out.

How much does this cost?

My Bin Day is 99p a month — less than a coffee a year. Cancel any time by replying STOP to a reminder and you won't be charged again.

Do you handle bank holidays?

Yes. We track Sandwell's published schedule, including the shifts that bank holidays and seasonal changes cause, so your reminder always reflects the real collection date.

Is this an official Sandwell council service?

No — My Bin Day is an independent service and is not affiliated with Sandwell or any council. We simply read the council's published collection schedule and send you a friendly reminder.
