Never miss a Redbridge bin day again

Redbridge collects general rubbish and recycling weekly. Rubbish goes in a black wheelie bin, while recycling is sorted into two boxes — one for containers and glass, one for paper and card. Garden waste is a paid brown bin, and a food waste service is being introduced.

How Redbridge bin collections work

The London Borough of Redbridge collects the black wheelie bin (general non-recyclable waste — nappies, polystyrene, soft plastics and anything that can't be recycled) weekly, bagged. Recycling is collected weekly using two boxes (or clear bags): box one for food tins, drink cans, glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays, and aerosols; box two for paper and card. Rinse and squash items. Garden waste goes in a brown bin on a paid subscription, collected fortnightly. A separate weekly food waste collection is being introduced under national Simpler Recycling rules, with recycling wheelie bins arriving from 2027. This information was correct at the time of writing; the council has proposals to change its collection schedule currently under review, so your service may be updated in future. Present containers by 6am on collection day.
