Never miss a North Lincolnshire bin day again

North Lincolnshire (a separate council from neighbouring North East Lincolnshire) moved to a simpler co-mingled scheme in 2026. A new burgundy bin now takes all your dry recycling together, a grey or green bin is for rubbish, and the brown bin handles food and garden waste — collected weekly and free.

How North Lincolnshire bin collections work

North Lincolnshire Council collects the general waste bin (grey or green) fortnightly, and the burgundy bin — a new 240-litre bin introduced in 2026 for all dry recycling co-mingled: plastic, metal, glass, cardboard, paper, cartons, plastic film and textiles — fortnightly on alternate weeks. The burgundy bin replaced the old kerbside boxes. The brown bin takes food and garden waste together, collected weekly at no charge, with a kitchen caddy provided. Note: don't confuse North Lincolnshire with North East Lincolnshire — they're different councils with very different schemes. Present bins by 7am on collection day.

Common questions

When are bins collected in North Lincolnshire?

North Lincolnshire collects the general waste bin (grey or green) and the new burgundy co-mingled recycling bin on alternating fortnights, plus a weekly free brown bin for food and garden waste. It's a separate council from North East Lincolnshire. My Bin Day reads your council schedule and texts you the evening before each collection so you never mix up the weeks.

How much does this cost?

My Bin Day is 99p a month — less than a coffee a year. Cancel any time by replying STOP to a reminder and you won't be charged again.

Do you handle bank holidays?

Yes. We track North Lincolnshire's published schedule, including the shifts that bank holidays and seasonal changes cause, so your reminder always reflects the real collection date.

Is this an official North Lincolnshire council service?

No — My Bin Day is an independent service and is not affiliated with North Lincolnshire or any council. We simply read the council's published collection schedule and send you a friendly reminder.
