The London Borough of Lewisham collects the black bin (180L, general non-recyclable waste) every fortnight, and the green bin (240L, mixed dry recycling — paper, card, plastics, glass and tins, all mixed together, no separating) weekly. Food waste is collected weekly using a 23-litre silver outdoor bin and a 5-litre kitchen caddy. Garden waste goes in a brown bin on a paid subscription. Flats have blue communal rubbish bins and green communal recycling bins; flats above shops use orange sacks (rubbish) and clear sacks (recycling). Note the local quirk: green is recycling here, not garden waste. Present bins by 6am on collection day.
