Never miss a Fylde bin day again

Fylde Council covers Lytham St Annes, Kirkham and the villages of the Lancashire coast west of Blackpool. It runs a four-bin service — grey, blue, brown and green — collected on alternating fortnightly weeks. From autumn 2026 the grey and brown bins swap roles and a weekly food waste service is being added.

How Fylde bin collections work

Fylde runs four wheeled bins on rotation, and from autumn 2026 the grey and brown bins are swapping jobs — so it's easy to send the wrong one out. My Bin Day texts you the evening before each collection so you're always ready by 7am. Just £0.99 a month, no ads, cancel anytime. This information was correct at the time of writing; the council has proposals to change its collection schedule currently under review, so your service may be updated in future.

Grey bin — general household waste that cannot be recycled (fortnightly)
💙
Blue bin — mixed recycling: glass, cans and plastic bottles (fortnightly)
🤎
Brown bin — paper and cardboard recycling (fortnightly)
💚
Green bin — garden waste, paid subscription (fortnightly)

Bin setup and collection days come straight from Fylde. You can also check the council's own page at new.fylde.gov.uk.

Common questions

When are bins collected in Fylde?

Fylde currently collects the grey general-waste bin one week, then the blue recycling bin, brown paper/card bin and green garden bin the next, on alternating fortnightly weeks. From autumn 2026 the grey and brown bins swap roles (grey becomes paper and card, brown becomes general waste) and a new free weekly food waste caddy is introduced. Garden waste is a paid subscription (green bin). Lancashire County Council handles disposal.

How much does this cost?

My Bin Day is 99p a month — less than a coffee a year. Cancel any time by replying STOP to a reminder and you won't be charged again.

Do you handle bank holidays?

Yes. We track Fylde's published schedule, including the shifts that bank holidays and seasonal changes cause, so your reminder always reflects the real collection date.

Is this an official Fylde council service?

No — My Bin Day is an independent service and is not affiliated with Fylde or any council. We simply read the council's published collection schedule and send you a friendly reminder.
