Derbyshire Dales District Council (with contractor Serco) collects the grey-lidded bin (general non-recyclable waste, or black sacks where wheeled bins don't fit) and the blue-lidded recycling bin on alternating fortnightly weeks. The blue bin takes glass bottles and jars, cans, and plastics numbered 1 to 5, with paper and card kept separate in a black insert inside the bin (or blue box and blue bags on sack collections) — the recycling truck has split compartments. Food waste is collected weekly. Garden waste goes in a green bin on a paid subscription, collected fortnightly. Small electricals can be left out on food waste collection day. Present containers by 7am on collection day. Waste is disposed of via Derbyshire County Council.
