Chichester District Council collects the black bin (general non-recyclable household waste) and the burgundy bin (recycling — paper, card, plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays, glass bottles and jars, tins, cans and foil, clean, dry and loose) on alternating fortnightly weeks. Food waste is collected weekly using a small grey kitchen caddy and a grey-and-orange outdoor food bin — now rolled out across the district, with communal properties following in autumn 2026. Garden waste goes in a green bin on a paid subscription, collected fortnightly. Excess general waste needs a council biodegradable sack (£1.25 each). Present bins by 6am on collection day. Waste is disposed of via West Sussex County Council.
