Never miss a Cheshire East bin day again

Cheshire East uses a distinctive silver bin for recycling — easy to spot — alongside a black bin for rubbish and a green bin for garden waste. Rubbish and recycling alternate week about, and a weekly food waste service is arriving in autumn 2026.

How Cheshire East bin collections work

Cheshire East Council collects the black bin (general household waste) and the silver bin (mixed dry recycling — paper, card, cartons, glass bottles and jars, plastic containers, tins, cans, clean foil and empty aerosols) on alternating fortnightly weeks. Garden waste goes in a green bin on a paid subscription, collected fortnightly. From autumn 2026 the council is introducing weekly food waste collections and moving black bins to a three-weekly cycle. Present all bins at the edge of your property by 6:30am on collection day.

Common questions

When are bins collected in Cheshire East?

Cheshire East collects the black (general waste) and silver (mixed recycling) bins on alternating fortnights, with a paid green garden bin. A weekly food waste service and three-weekly black bins start in autumn 2026. My Bin Day reads your council schedule and texts you the evening before each collection so you never mix up black week with silver week.

How much does this cost?

My Bin Day is 99p a month — less than a coffee a year. Cancel any time by replying STOP to a reminder and you won't be charged again.

Do you handle bank holidays?

Yes. We track Cheshire East's published schedule, including the shifts that bank holidays and seasonal changes cause, so your reminder always reflects the real collection date.

Is this an official Cheshire East council service?

No — My Bin Day is an independent service and is not affiliated with Cheshire East or any council. We simply read the council's published collection schedule and send you a friendly reminder.
