Never miss a Castle Point bin day again

Castle Point uses a sack and box system: a pink sack for mixed recycling, a separate box for glass, and black sacks for rubbish, all alternating fortnightly. Food waste is collected weekly, and garden waste is a paid green service.

How Castle Point bin collections work

Castle Point Borough Council collects black sacks (general non-recyclable waste) and pink recycling sacks (mixed recycling except glass — plastic bottles, tubs, pots and trays, hard plastic, cans, aerosols, tins, foil, paper, card and cartons) on alternating fortnightly weeks. Glass bottles and jars go in a separate green or yellow glass box, collected alongside the pink sack, and must never go in a sack. Food waste is collected weekly in a caddy. Garden waste goes in a green wheeled bin (paid subscription) or council green sacks. A blue sack is provided for textiles and clothing. Free pink sack rolls are delivered once a year. Present everything by 7am on collection day.

Common questions

When are bins collected in Castle Point?

Castle Point collects black sacks (general waste) and pink recycling sacks on alternating fortnights, with glass in a separate box, a weekly food caddy, and a paid green garden service. Note glass must go in the box, never in a sack. My Bin Day reads your council schedule and texts you the evening before each collection so you always know what to put out.

How much does this cost?

My Bin Day is 99p a month — less than a coffee a year. Cancel any time by replying STOP to a reminder and you won't be charged again.

Do you handle bank holidays?

Yes. We track Castle Point's published schedule, including the shifts that bank holidays and seasonal changes cause, so your reminder always reflects the real collection date.

Is this an official Castle Point council service?

No — My Bin Day is an independent service and is not affiliated with Castle Point or any council. We simply read the council's published collection schedule and send you a friendly reminder.
