Never miss a Buckinghamshire bin day again

Buckinghamshire is a large unitary formed from several former districts, so the exact containers vary a little by area — but the core is a grey bin for rubbish, a recycling bin, a separate box for paper and card, and a weekly food caddy. Recycling and rubbish alternate week about.

How Buckinghamshire bin collections work

Buckinghamshire Council collects the grey bin (non-recyclable general waste) and the recycling bin (plastic bottles and containers, cans, glass bottles and jars, and cartons) on alternating fortnightly weeks. Paper and card go separately in a dedicated box or container, collected on the same day as your recycling. Food waste is collected weekly in a caddy. Garden waste goes in a bin on a paid subscription (£65 a year). Because Buckinghamshire merged several former district services, container types can differ slightly across Aylesbury, Wycombe, Chiltern and South Bucks. Present containers by 6:30am on collection day.

Common questions

When are bins collected in Buckinghamshire?

Buckinghamshire collects a grey (general waste) bin and a mixed recycling bin on alternating fortnights, with paper and card kept separate, a weekly food caddy, and a paid garden waste service. Container types vary a little by area. My Bin Day reads your council schedule and texts you the evening before each collection so you always know what's due.

How much does this cost?

My Bin Day is 99p a month — less than a coffee a year. Cancel any time by replying STOP to a reminder and you won't be charged again.

Do you handle bank holidays?

Yes. We track Buckinghamshire's published schedule, including the shifts that bank holidays and seasonal changes cause, so your reminder always reflects the real collection date.

Is this an official Buckinghamshire council service?

No — My Bin Day is an independent service and is not affiliated with Buckinghamshire or any council. We simply read the council's published collection schedule and send you a friendly reminder.
