Never miss a Brentwood bin day again

Brentwood uses a colour-coded sack system for recycling: blue sacks for paper and card, white sacks for plastic and cans, and a red box for glass. General rubbish goes in black sacks, food waste is collected weekly, and garden waste is a paid service.

How Brentwood bin collections work

Brentwood Borough Council collects black sacks (general non-recyclable waste) weekly for most properties. Recycling is sorted at the kerbside: blue sacks for clean paper and cardboard, and white sacks for plastic and cans, collected on alternating fortnights. Glass bottles and jars go in a red box, never in a sack. Food waste is collected weekly in a caddy. Garden waste goes in a brown bin (paid subscription) or green biodegradable sacks, collected fortnightly. Tie sacks securely and present everything by 7:30am. Note: a trial of fortnightly wheeled-bin refuse is running in Ingatestone and may expand.

Common questions

When are bins collected in Brentwood?

Brentwood collects black sacks (general waste) weekly, with blue sacks (paper and card) and white sacks (plastic and cans) on alternating fortnights, glass in a red box, a weekly food caddy, and a paid garden service. My Bin Day reads your council schedule and texts you the evening before each collection so you always know what to put out.

How much does this cost?

My Bin Day is 99p a month — less than a coffee a year. Cancel any time by replying STOP to a reminder and you won't be charged again.

Do you handle bank holidays?

Yes. We track Brentwood's published schedule, including the shifts that bank holidays and seasonal changes cause, so your reminder always reflects the real collection date.

Is this an official Brentwood council service?

No — My Bin Day is an independent service and is not affiliated with Brentwood or any council. We simply read the council's published collection schedule and send you a friendly reminder.
