Blaby keeps recycling simple: one bin takes all your dry recycling including glass, with general rubbish in a separate bin, alternating week about. Food waste is collected weekly, and garden waste is a paid brown bin.
Blaby District Council collects the refuse bin (general non-recyclable waste) and the recycling bin (mixed dry recycling — paper, card, cardboard, glass bottles and jars, cans, and plastics, all together and loose) on alternating fortnightly weeks. Everything must fit inside the bin with the lid closed — from November 2025, cardboard left beside the bin is no longer collected. Batteries can be left in a sealed bag on top of the recycling bin. Food waste is collected weekly using a kitchen caddy and outdoor caddy, by a separate vehicle. Garden waste goes on a paid subscription. Present bins by 6:30am on collection day.
