Never miss a Basingstoke & Deane bin day again

Basingstoke and Deane collects general rubbish and recycling on alternating weeks, with a weekly food waste caddy added in October 2025. Glass has its own box collected fortnightly. Garden waste is a separate paid service.

How Basingstoke & Deane bin collections work

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council (with contractor Serco) collects the black or grey bin (general non-recyclable waste, including plastic pots, tubs and trays) and the green recycling bin (clean plastic bottles, tins, cans, paper and cardboard) on alternating weeks. Glass bottles and jars go in a separate blue box, collected fortnightly. Food waste is collected weekly using a kitchen and outdoor caddy, on the same day as your other collection. Garden waste goes in a brown bin on a paid subscription. Note that plastic pots, tubs and trays currently go in the general waste bin, not recycling, pending new sorting facilities in Hampshire. This information was correct at the time of writing; the council has proposals to change its collection schedule currently under review, so your service may be updated in future. Present containers by 6am on collection day.
