Never miss a Babergh bin day again

Babergh (run jointly with Mid Suffolk) overhauled its collections in June 2026: general rubbish, recycling and paper/card all moved to a three-weekly cycle, with a new weekly food waste service. Glass and cartons can now go in the recycling. Garden waste is a separate paid service.

How Babergh bin collections work

Babergh District Council collects general rubbish, mixed recycling, and paper and card each on a three-weekly cycle (from 1 June 2026). The recycling bin now accepts glass bottles and jars and cartons as well as plastics and metal (plastic film to follow in 2027). Food waste is collected weekly, on the same day as one of your other bins but by a separate crew. Garden waste goes in a brown bin on an optional paid subscription, collected fortnightly. Only authorised Babergh bins are emptied — rubbish in unauthorised black sacks left beside bins won't be collected. Present bins by 6am on collection day.

When are bins collected in Babergh?

Babergh collects general rubbish, recycling and paper/card each on a three-weekly cycle, with a weekly food caddy and a paid brown garden bin. Glass and cartons now go in the recycling. Note the three-weekly rubbish cycle, introduced June 2026. My Bin Day reads your council schedule and texts you the evening before each collection so you always know which bin is due.

How much does this cost?

My Bin Day is 99p a month — less than a coffee a year. Cancel any time by replying STOP to a reminder and you won't be charged again.

Do you handle bank holidays?

Yes. We track Babergh's published schedule, including the shifts that bank holidays and seasonal changes cause, so your reminder always reflects the real collection date.

Is this an official Babergh council service?

No — My Bin Day is an independent service and is not affiliated with Babergh or any council. We simply read the council's published collection schedule and send you a friendly reminder.
