Arun overhauled its collections in spring 2026: general rubbish moved to fortnightly, with a new weekly food waste caddy. Recycling is a green bin with a blue lid, and garden waste is a separate paid 'Green Waste Club' service.
Arun District Council collects the black bin (180 litres, general non-recyclable waste) fortnightly, and the green bin with a blue lid (dry mixed recycling — paper, card, glass, food and drink cans, and plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays) fortnightly on the alternate week. Food waste is collected weekly using a grey outdoor caddy with an orange lid and a 5-litre kitchen caddy — this service began on 13 April 2026. Garden waste goes on a paid 'Green Waste Club' subscription. Present all containers by 6am on collection day.
